Mind is Everything
A man is what he thinks. Literally. A man’s character is the sum of all of his thoughts. His mind is everything. Action Every action requires a thought. Action blooms from a man’s thoughts. Every act grows and springs from his seeds planted by his thoughts. Joy and suffering may be the fruits of his thoughts. He may reap both the ripe and the rotten of his own mental harvest. Character A noble, manly character isn’t created by chance, but by the natural result of continued effort in intentional thinking. Believing. A man is built or destroyed by himself. By thought alone, a man may create the weapons with which he destroys himself. His thoughts can also forge the tools with which he builds himself a comforting armor of joy, power, and peace. Between the Godlike and the bestial are all the of measures of a man’s character, and he is their maker and master. Proverbs 23:7 As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. The Most Fundamental Change in Our Relationship with God: Paul, Mystery, and Blue Elephants8/1/2015 About 50 AD, a man named Paul wrote about the most fundamental change in our relationship with God. He revealed a great mystery and made simple-to-understand that:
He revealed the greatest spiritual truth that anyone could ever know. Once I learned what it was, it changed my life forever. I encourage other men to read the following article and investigate certain truths for themselves and learn to how be better men, wonderful husbands, and loving fathers. Let's start with the great mystery that Paul revealed. Mystery What’s a mystery? A mystery is anything that’s kept a secret, and remains unexplained. Paul was a man who revealed one of the greatest mystery of the world. And it triggered a fundamental change in humanity's relationship with God - a relationship in which believing, rather than behavior, became the key to a more than abundant life. Paul was born Jewish. He lived in Tarsus, which is now Turkey. He lived within the Roman empire. He traveled to Jerusalem, Asia, Greece, Rome. And he taught and wrote. Paul wrote 13 letters. He never met Jesus, the man, but met his friends and disciples, and for many years, he actually had a job to hunt and persecute them. He grew up under Roman law, and he knew the Jewish law or Law of Moses (Old Testament) very well. Under Jewish Law, good behavior included what was/is called “indulgences,” where you essentially pay for God’s love. The more money you pay the church, the more of God's love you receive. This is the crap you get from Abrahamic religions that limited ignorant people of the past. Because of men like Paul, we know better. One day Paul was walking along a road with his friends and donkeys, when a very bright light hit him right in the face. It blinded him. Paul heard a voice speak to him. The voice told him to go see a man name Ananias who would heal him. And on that day, Paul became a new man. That miraculous experience changed him forever. Paul started traveling from country to country, teaching about how everyone can have a direct, personal relationship (fellowship) with God and experientially know and practically apply truths to one’s life. All over the world, he traveled, teaching, writing, and fellowshipping. And Paul was telling everyone a secret that was revealed to him. Paul was on a mission to share that revelation. A great mystery that has been hidden from everyone since time began was being revealed. The Greatest Mystery of All Time This great mystery that Paul revealed is the greatest spiritual truth that anyone could ever know. Once I learned what it was, it changed me and my life forever, just like Paul's life was changed. And it’s written down. You can read it for yourself. It's written in the Bible. Now, let's get something straight about this book. Most of the bible is actually NOT written to you. Most of it is written for you to read and learn from. There are only a few parts of the bible that are actually written to you and for you to empirically understand and practically apply to your life. To understand what you're reading, you could do a word study. It's kinda fun. We do word studies in our weekly family fellowships. A couple thousand years ago, King James hired a bunch of smart people to translate the old Greek and Aramaic versions of the bible and translate them into English. So, just about every word in the King James version can be researched back to its original language. If we take a look at the word mystery, it appears many times in the bible. The Greek word for mystery is musterion. Out of the many occurrences of that word, 17 refer to the great mystery revealed by Paul. Word Study and Blue Elephants Let’s get a piece of paper, and take notes, while looking up a few of them.
In our recent family fellowship, I asked everyone to pass on the following sentence by whispering it in your neighbor's ear. The sentence was, "The big, blue elephant stomps, chomps, and blows his horn." I whispered it to someone in our fellowship; they whispered it to someone else sitting next to them; and so on. At the end of the line of whispering, the sentence was hardly recognizable. Paul knew this problem of people accurately learning truths told by others. And that's why he wrote down his revelation about the mystery. Paul wrote and explained the great mystery in his letters, so that we could study and understand it today in our fellowships.
This type of teaching was smack in the face of the Jewish Law and the Law of Moses. Folks who benefited from these laws, where you have to pay for God's love, were threatened by this type of antagonistic teaching. Both Paul and Jesus taught that the old Abrahamic religion was dead and the new way of life was through believing with your mind and freely receiving the love of God manifested in your life.
Back then, Paul's revelation and teaching was shocking to people. Religion is Dead His insight triggered a transformative change in the way common folk understood themselves, their spiritual position and abilities, and how they related themselves to others who were in preposterous religious power. Paul made spirituality easy to understand. He said that we're all spiritually the same, where no one is greater than anyone else, and that believers are of the same spiritual family body. This revelation killed any need for religion. Why pay the farmer, when you can milk the cow for free? Everyone has a direct connection and relationship to God, Spirit. The great mystery is a big topic to study. Can’t be done in one word study, one fellowship, or one article. But that's the fun part of studying and learning -- it never ends. But let's continue with one last verse. And it's in Colossians. Turn to Colossians 1:26-27 in the King James Bible. It says, "Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints, to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." Paul writes this to help reveal the great mystery in more detail. Every believer can have Christ in him or her, which is the gift of holy spirit. Holy spirit is a gift from God to every believer. And it's given unconditionally. "Christ in you" in the bible means the love of God in the renewed mind in manifestation. So, where the bible says "God in Christ in you," that means that you can have the gift of holy spirit in you, from God, held in your mind (renewed mind) and manifested in your life. How can God be in your mind? Well, you have to understand what God is, and is not. God is not a man. God is not an old man with curly hair floating in the clouds, waving his finger, and doing good and bad things. That's delusional. You might as well believe in Poseidon. Actually, God is what the bible says it is: spirit, love, light, energy, everywhere, powerful.
That's how every believer can have the love of God in the renewed mind in manifestation. It's all about believing. And it starts with your mind. Conclusion That’s what Paul revealed. That’s the great mystery -- we can have the love of God in our renewed minds manifested in our lives. Paul taught that we are fellow heirs and of the same spiritual body with other believers. And God’s riches of this mystery is Christ in you, holy spirit.
Investigate for Yourself I encourage you to read, study, and meditate upon these things. Investigate certain spiritual truths for yourself by studying what has been made available to us. The great mystery is now made known. It’s no longer a secret. The greatest discovery for any human being is a spiritual one. Spirit is a powerful energy that people have never seriously studied as we have in the past with physical forces. Someday we'll fully understand that the material world around us is not the source of joy and love, does not bring forth happiness and fulfillment, but is a mere reflection of our creative minds. When we turn inwards, and begin a real study of the spiritual forces that manifest themselves in the material world, we'll see for the first time what's really happening. Everything comes from within.
And, if this is true, it can be studied. So, let's study. Religion Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are faith-based religions whose central teachings do not provide adherents empirical, scientifically valid approaches to living. Faith-based religions are mostly unpractical and illogical, because they are man-made. Man created religion. Religion is not worth our time to study. I'd like to offer a question. Might it be possible to live an incredible spiritual life, free of dogma, metaphysics, and mythological assumptions imposed by faith-based religion? I am convinced that by approaching the investigation into spirituality, God, the universe, shared consciousness, whatever you'd like to call it, in a scientific (objective, experimental) way, spirit manifests itself in the physical laws and truths of the universe. Where Should We Start? So, where should we start? Many of us have heard the phrase, "Believing Equals Receiving." We also may have an opinion about how thoughts affect reality. We may think that there's a universal energy, a Holy Spirit, that heals, empowers and supplies. But most of us are not absolutely 100% convinced of these things. 100 percent. Deep-down-inside, absolutely convinced. The scientific experiments that are provided in The King's Guide will help prove to you and others, once and for all, that you have an incredible, powerful energy inside you, and that a field of infinite possibilities awaits you, and that God shall supply all of your needs (Philippians 4:19). The experiments offer a way to help confirm what I'm assuming you already know:
Thoughts The Buddha taught that we are shaped by our thoughts, and that we become what we think. If we think that we will be filled to the fullest, with all of our needs met, then indeed it shall be. Our needs become supplied, because we shape our reality by our thoughts. Paramahansa Yogananda said, "Be afraid of nothing. Hating none, giving love to all, feeling the love of God, seeing His presence in everyone, and having but one desire - for His constant presence in the temple of your consciousness - that is the way to live in this world.” My desire is that we may be filled with a comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God, and in understanding and discernment of spiritual things, that we may walk (live and conduct yourselves) in a manner worthy, pleasing, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing and increasing in and by the knowledge of God with fuller, deeper, and clearer insight (Colossians 1:9-10). Empirical Approach A scientific experimental approach to investigating God, and how our needs are met through the thought-act of believing, will help us witness how full of power, joy, and love our lives are. Let's start understanding the power of God with an empirical approach to believing and receiving. In three weeks, it is possible to conduct several experiments that are presented in The King's Guide. So, let's do some. By doing so, we'll learn how to develop a conscious relationship with energy and learn how to use energy effectively in our lives. Each experiment takes less than 48 consecutive hours, so we don't have to wait for results. Energy is like electricity, powerful and dependable. When you turn on a light switch, you expect the light bulb to turn on almost immediately. Yes? Same with spiritual energy. Same with God. There's nothing wishy-washy. Each experiment will help us experientially know that our believing is real, actual, and provable. God actually tells us to test and prove all things until we can recognize that good reality and to hold on to that truth (1 Thessalonians 5:21). Each 48-hour experiment will require God, that universe of incredible energy that is around you, into which your consciousness is plugged (like a lamp cord into a wall receptacle), to provide a clear, unmistakable result. Not just a coincidence. A clearly-understood blessing, gift, or result. Scientific Method The scientific method works something like this:
First, observe something in the universe. Let's say that I see that people are claiming to heal others with prayer, thoughts, or intention of some sort. Second, my hypothesis is that enlightened folk ask the universe for something specific, and they receive it. Third, my prediction is that I can do the same. Fourth, my experiment is to focus on, let's say, my foot, and expect it to be healed completely within 48 hours. Quantum Physics Quantum physicists teach that nothing in the universe exists until it is observed. Everything is but energy waves of an infinite field possibility that was observed into reality, as Genesis 1:4 tells us. So, let's first observe something into form. Let's say, "I want _____ to be created out of the field of possibilities in the next 48 hours." You must believe that all things are possible. Jesus said that with men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible (Mark 10:27). Call Out for a Blessing Call out for a blessing or unexpected gift. Give it 48 hours. Examples can be a letter from an old friend, some extra money, significant help just when you need it, a huge break, a promotion, a new love, healing, a gift from a stranger, etc. Something truly unexpected. You've got to believe for this gift. We must believe that if we do X, then Y happens. Have no hesitation in asking. Set aside skepticism. Expect to have it. Believing is the title deed of the things we hope for, being the proof of things we do not see and the conviction of their reality (Hebrews 11:1). Expect to see it. Keep your eyes open. Some say that signs, miracles, and wonders no longer happen. This is not true. Unexpected blessings and gifts from God happen all of the time, every day, but most of us are not trained in recognizing and acknowledging them. People receive what they believe for all the time. It's a law -- the law of believing is like the law of gravity. It applies to everyone, applies to the whole world, and it dominates everyone's lives whether they know it or not. Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will get it. (Mark 11:23-24). Believing is like a muscle. You have to exercise it and build it up. My wife is a strong believer. That's her strength. Believing. She exercises that muscle all the time. We can too. Start your experiment small. Don't try a moving a mountain with a weak muscle. Believe in proportion to your strength. And keep exercising and building your believing. Experiment #1 Start the experiment and write down the date and time and the specific request. Ask for a blessing. Ask for a gift. Be specific. Focus like a lens of a camera. Nothing blurry. And don't believe for something out of fear. Believe to see the results. Believe to manifest. Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your needs known to God (Philippians 4:6). Let your requests be made known. That's it. Look for it. It's 48 hours and counting. Use the following template for your research experiment: ------------------------ Observation: There is in the universe an invisible energy field of unlimited possibilities. God. Hypothesis: Thoughts create reality. Ask for a gift from God, and God shall supply (Phil 4:19). Prediction: After making a specific request, a clear sign, blessing, or gift will be received that can not be attributed to coincidence. Experiment: To test this hypothesis, simply ask God for something and see what happens. What is Your Request? Write it down: __________________________________________________________ Today's Date: _____ The Time: _____ Experiment Duration: 48 hours. Research Notes: ___________________________________________________________ We now have a science of spirituality that is verifiable and objective. For additional consideration, the bible says in Romans 1:16-22, that God's power is available to everyone who believes - believes with a personal trust, confident surrender and firm reliance (Romans 1:16). The power of God first springs from believing and leads to more believing. And a man shall live by believing (Romans 1:17). With believing, truth is not hindered, nor life inoperative (Romans 1:18). For that which is known about God is evident to those who live by believing, and God is made plain in their inner consciousness, because God Himself has shown it to them (Romans 1:19). Since the creation of the world, His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made, God's handiwork. So we are without excuse (Romans 1:20). We are to believe and receive with thanksgiving (Romans 1:21) and to not become darkened, godless in senseless thinking, with vain imaginings and foolish reasoning and speculations (Romans 1:22). God encourages us to be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds, that we may prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2). For more information to help you with your empirical approach to God, you may want to read the following articles: We'll have more experiments provided in future articles of The King's Guide. Have fun with your experiment! |
